In English this week we have been working on descriptions of our own dragons that we designed. We have learnt that the purpose of description is so that our readers can get a picture in their heads of what we are writing about. Once we had written our descriptions our teacher put them into AI software to turn our descriptions into pictures!

Computing - Music on a Laptop

Today was very exciting in Year 2 computing as we got to use the laptops for making music! We learned how to login to our own accounts and access Google Classroom in order to open and save our musical creations in Chrome Music Lab. We talked about notes and how these can be represented, and then had a go at creating our own musical scores! We finished by saving our work to access again next week. Wow Year 2!

RE Festival Workshop- Sukkot

Year 2 welcomed a visit today from Jenny McLachlan an author, as part of the Isle of Wight Literary festival. She told us all about her real life inspiration for her stories and including her book The Land of Roar. Jenny helped us to act out the start of her story but we will have to read it to find out more! We then wrote our own spells to help the dragon egg from the Land of Roar hatch and met the pet dragon as well as his grown up friend! Finally we learnt how to draw the fairy Stink from Jenny’s book about Stink fairy.
