Becoming an architect

 This week in art we finished creating our structures. Everyone showed great perseverance and creativity and the end results were amazing!

 In English today we were looking at retelling the story of Little Red Riding Hood ready to write our own version next week. We had a go at sequencing the story and placing the events in the correct order. We then had a go at making our own stick puppets and retelling the story.

 Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful trip to Osborne house as part of our history work all about Queen Victoria and also to link with our DT topic of bathing machines. We enjoyed a walk around the house looking at the Christmas decorations as well as learning lots about Queen Victoria. We also learnt all about her children in a special workshop about them. Finally we ventured down to the beach to look at Queen Victoria’s bathing machine in order to inspire us in creating our own bathing machines.

 In English this week we have been writing our versions of the story The Lion and the Mouse. Everyone wrote some amazing stories and then we decided to publish them by writing our stories up into books and illustrating them as well. We are going to share our books with reception children at the end of the week.
