History : fossil hunting

 We continued to learn about Mary Anning this week, beginning to think about why she is famous. We used some clues to begin to discover some facts about Mary Anning, including that she found fossils and dinosaurs. We then had a go at being fossil hunters ourselves, unearthing fossils as well as looking at some replica dinosaur fossils, studying them and sketching them.

Our first Art lesson explored the Natural world and we watched a short film created by David Attenborough. The children chose to draw anything that inspired them in the video. Many chose to draw volcanoes, trees, leaves and animals.

 This week in English we have been writing our own versions of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Today we learnt all about editing and how we need to check our work for errors to improve it. We had a go at editing a piece of Mrs Squibb’s work before trying to check our own work.
