RE Festival Workshop- Tu B’Shevat

 Today we learnt about the Jewish New Year Festival for trees. It is one of four new year celebrations some Jewish people celebrate and it marks the new agricultural year. According to old Jewish law trees that are planted on Tu B’Shevat are left to grow for three years before they’re harvested, to mark this anniversary some people will plant new trees and enjoy a feast of fruit, both fresh and dried. We planted some herbs to grow in our classroom to mark Tu B’Shevat, I wonder what they will taste like when they are grown.

Our first Art lesson explored the Natural world and we watched a short film created by David Attenborough. The children chose to draw anything that inspired them in the video. Many chose to draw volcanoes, trees, leaves and animals.

 This week in English we have been writing our own versions of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Today we learnt all about editing and how we need to check our work for errors to improve it. We had a go at editing a piece of Mrs Squibb’s work before trying to check our own work.
