Welcome!

 Welcome to Year 2! We have had a lovely day and a great start to the year! We started the year by looking at the book All are Welcome! And talking about how we are all welcome in our class and school and how everyone is different but everyone belongs. We drew pictures of ourselves and created a class poster which will stay up in our classrooms all year.

Our first Art lesson explored the Natural world and we watched a short film created by David Attenborough. The children chose to draw anything that inspired them in the video. Many chose to draw volcanoes, trees, leaves and animals.

 This week in English we have been writing our own versions of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Today we learnt all about editing and how we need to check our work for errors to improve it. We had a go at editing a piece of Mrs Squibb’s work before trying to check our own work.
