Puppets
In DT last week we started our new unit of work looking at puppets. We learnt about different kinds of puppets and thought about what they are made from and how the move. We drew our favourite type of puppet and labelled it.

Year 2 loved their music lesson today beginning to learn how to play the recorder and starting to learn how to read music. We learnt how to hold the recorder, produce a sound and play our first note which is b. Everyone did amazingly!
History
We started our new history topic today learning all about the Great Fire of London. We started by being history detectives and using clues to learn about how the Great Fire of London started.
Becoming an architect
This week in art we finished creating our structures. Everyone showed great perseverance and creativity and the end results were amazing!
Music
In music this week we became composers! We created our own compositions about a storm using graphic scores to notate them. There was some fantastic work!
English
Our new English unit is based on the book Journey and we began by having a journey of our own around the school grounds! We found a magic door in a tree and talked about where the door might lead before drawing and painting our own ideas of the land that the door leads to.
