Year 2 Blog 2024/25

 In today’s PSHE lesson we focused on our No outsiders theme. We explored how people communicate through the story ‘what the jackdaw saw’ by Julia Donaldson. We learnt how to spell our name using sign language and learnt how to sign party and danger which were two words from the story. 

 In re day today we were thinking about the concept and idea of God. We started by thinking about our own ideas of what God might look like and drew and painted our ideas. We discussed our ideas about what God is like and we then thought about what Christians think about God by looking at some stories from the Bible. Finally we looked at the religion of Hinduism and thought about the concept of God as believed by Hindus. 

 In today’s lesson we looked at different crops that are grown in Jamaica and we compared them to crops grown in the UK. We also wrote a postcard imagining that we were a farmer in Jamaica, we had to describe what our farm was like and explain what crops grew on our farm. 

 Today in Maths we explored what a tally chart is and how we can make a tally chart. We collected data from our peers and used the information to make our own tally chart.
