Year 2 Blog 2024/25

 Year 2 have had an incredibly exciting morning, they had the opportunity to meet the baby ducks on the morning that they hatched. 

 In history today we started our new topic in which we are going to be learning about Mary Anning. To help us we thought about chronology today and the order of history. We looked at different objects, people and events and thought about whether they were from now, in the past or a long time ago. We had a got at ordering the different items which was quite tricky! We remembered that Queen Victoria was born in 1819 and learnt that Mary Anning was born before this in 1799! We then thought about what life would have been like for a poor child such as Mary back in 1800. 

 In year 2 our RE day this half term explored change and the people that Jesus met. We discussed what good change can look like and what bad change looks like. We thought about changes in our own lives and then discussed some bible stories in which Jesus changed people that he met.
