Year 2 Blog 2024/25

 In English today we had a go at writing some instructions to explain how to look after our pet dragons. 

 In PSHE this week we talked about what we could do if we were being bullied or if we saw someone being bullied. We talked about telling a trusted adult and who this might be as well as talking about how we could be kind to people and ask them to play if we see them being bullied. 

Today we have explored the topic of special food during our RE Day and why it is important for Christians and Hindus to have their special food. We were able to describe and draw foods that are special to us and explain why bread and wine are important to Christians.   

 In geography today we were looking at physical and human features. We had a scavenger hunt outside where we had to look for different coloured cards with a geographical feature on the other side. We then had to work in teams to sort the feature by whether they were physical or human. We talked about how the countries of the UK have lots of features which are the same such as schools, bridges, hills, shops and lakes. 

 In art we have been looking at printing. This week we had a go at printing using charcoal. We drew an image on a piece of paper. We then covered another piece of paper with charcoal and turned it upside down onto our page. We then placed our original drawing on top of the charcoal sheet and traced over our drawing and it appeared magically on the page!
