Re day

Image
Year 2 enjoyed Re day thinking about the idea of candlelight as a symbol. We talked about different candles and what they are used for and the children came up with some fantastic ideas. We then thought  about the idea of candles being used to remember people or events. Finally we learnt about how the Jewish religion use candles to remember the miracle of the oil in the temple at Hanukkah and how Christian’s use candles to prepare for Jesus’ birth during Advent.

DT - Bathing Machines

In DT this week we have continued to make our bathing machines inspired by Queen Victoria and her life at Osborne House. Once we were happy with the shape of our machines we got onto adding colour using paint. Once painted we will be adding our wheels and axles.

In English this week we have written information texts about octopuses. We learnt how to lay them out neatly and wrote some questions as subheadings. We then wrote answers to the questions to give our reader information about octopuses. Everyone did a fantastic job.
